     Monday morning, Feb. 26, 1979 85% eclipse Promise City, Iowa
     Nature turned on one of its finest shows when it partially turned out the lights in Iowa this morning.
     About 10:30 a.m. the sky assumed an eerie light then shortly after 12-noon the sun was full and bright.
     It is stated that another eclipse will not be visible in North America until 2017.
     Just as a family record on this Feb. 26, 1979, Earl Jr. has just assumed a new teaching job at Indian Hills College in the science department beginning Jan. 29. Johnny is in the fifth grade in Kirksville, Missouri and Enfys is teaching one course at N.M.S.U.I. and doing graduate work. Earl Sr. is confined to the house with emphysema. Alice spent the afternoon with a dear friend, Elizabeth Bailey in Centerville while waiting for the Ford garage there to repair the windshield wipers on her '66 Comet. Earl Sr. is 78 years old. Alice, 70. Earl Jr. spent the day at a meeting in Kansas City.
     At the time of the next total eclipse, Johnny, you will be 49 years old! Grandma and Grandpa will be gone and only a memory
