Parade of Months

January is cold and bright,
Crisp, clear days and shivery nights.

February is the month when,
The groundhog peeks from his warm den

March snows melt in the noon day sun,
But puddles freeze when day is done.

April breezes are soft and light,
Budding crocuses, a lovely sight.

May, and birds begin to nest
School is out, kids like best.

June days are lovely but beware of nights
June bugs fly and mosquitoes bite.

July is the month for outdoor fun,
Picnics and swimming for everyone

August days are hot and hazy,
Activities slow, time to be lazy.

September, the loveliest time of year,
Summer not gone, winter not here.

October and battalions of geese on the wing,
Honk their way South to stay until spring.

November days are short, the nights long,
Trees are bare, their leaves all gone.

December, the darkest hour of the waning year,
But brightened by exciting Christmas cheer.
