Thank you Carol & Larry

 From Carol's Corner--March 9, 2004

Things are well with the Jim Cameron family here in South Dakota. On the 18th of February we had a double celebration when Valerie turned 40 (Can you believe it? She doesn't even mind!), and Kevin stepped off the plane at Fort Campbell, having completed his tour of duty in Iraq. Rah! Rah! Holly said the ceremony was beautiful and very touching for the returning troops. It's good to have Kevin home again, and we are grateful for the sacrifices that Holly, Kevin and all the military families have made for our country!

Ross has completed his basic training at Fort Knox in February, and is now in his advanced training there. Craig, Selma, and Ross' girl friend Katie attended the ceremony at Fort Knox. By all reports Ross did very well in Basic Training, and is enjoying the new training courses he is in. For Easter, Mom and I are going to fly down to Texas to visit with my son Daniel and his wife Jessie and my two precious grand daughters. Sue and Steve will be joining us, also, and David will drive from Louisiana to meet us there. Marshall has to stay home and work, which is a bummer! I have never flown, and mother's distaste for flying is a well known fact in our family, so we should make an interesting pair boarding the plane in Sioux Falls! I just hope that I don't have to call Marshall from Chicago to come and retrieve me because I can't get aboard our connecting flight!

It turned out to be a good driving winter for Denise, and she and Shaelean and Brian are doing well in their new home in Lake Benton. We aren't out of the winter woods yet, but spring is surely right around the corner!

Mom found out yesterday that she will have to go on oxygen at night, and that she is having some heart problems. I feel she is in good hands and the Doctors will be able to help her with these problems. She is in back and repertory therapies, and that seems to be helping.

Mom, Don and Pam, and Marshall and I enjoyed attending Lelia and Brian's wedding on the 14th of February. It was a lovely ceremony! As expected the food at the reception was great, and the dance was a blast. Mother even got out on the dance floor for a twirl or two with Don and Marshall! (I have the pics as proof of this!) I really enjoyed visiting with the family that made it to the wedding. It was a great time! Thanks Lelia and Brian. Can't wait for the reunion now!

Our families thoughts dwell on Larry often these days. Guess there's not much more I can add to that thought!

Keep in touch Clan Cameron!-Carol

Alice Stewart Born 17 September 1908 passed away last night about 11:30 p.m. (Dec. 28). John, Sonny's son called me about 1:30 in the morning. He said she passed peacefully and I know she was ready to go. She had told Sonny and John a couple of weeks earlier she wanted to die. The funeral will be on Friday, Jan 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Promise City and a lunch will be served after at the Community Center just around the corner. The Corydon Funeral Home is handling it all

 From Carol's Corner-November 2003

Our three new baby girls have all arrived safely and are in good health. Amanda, Rachel, and Aiyanna are all precious little bundles! See the birth page for the details!(Can you believe all the new babies we are getting on the page?)

Kevin, Holly's husband, is still Iraq. Keep thinking of and praying for him. Jim is going to school , and living with Holly right now, and we are happy they have each other at this time!

Our son Dan and his wife Jessica have relocated to Converse TX, where Dan is attending PA school at Fort Sam Houston. With the move from the Black Hills, the starting of classes for Dan, and the new baby arriving, it has been a busy and productive time in their lives, but very stressful, too.

Ross Cameron will start his basic training in the middle of November.. See the military page for more info. I'd sure like to see all of the family members that are in the military listed on that page!(Hint,Hint.)

Denise has made a move to Lake Benton, MN. Shaelean will be attending school in Elkton, and Denise's drive to work in Sioux Falls will be a little longer. We are hoping for a good driving winter for them!

Speaking of driving in the snow, we got our first snow of the season on Nov 3rd. Could be a long winter, but we will adjust.

Mom is having back problems at the present time. She is in treatment and physical therapy to try to correct it right now. She is till smoke free! It will be a whole year in December! Can you believe it?

Everyone here is doing well right now, and I hope all is well in the extended family also! With the Holidays approaching my mind finds it way home to all of you, and the happy moments we have shared.

Keep in touch and God Bless you all! -Carol

This is just an update as to how the Roth family is doing. This past year has been let’s say very busy. We had the announcement of our daughter Ida that she was engaged and planned to marry Eric Middendorf in September. Which they did and it was wonderful.

We had the birth of our second grandchild in April. April 14th to be exact. Carl Roth was born just before midnight and Charlie called about 1:30 am to let us know. He weighed in at 7 Lbs 1 Oz. He was 19 1/2 in. long. Arnie and I drove up to Wadena to get his mom and him as they were going to stay with Charlie in Rake Iowa for the first 6 to 8 weeks. She is still living there and the plans are that she will remain living there as long as the good Lord is willing.

We were told in May that our third grandchild is on the way. Josh and Ann are expecting in late January early February. I am getting excited about this little one being born. They plan to find out what the baby is in the near future. I hope it is a healthy little one. Girl or boy makes me no difference.

Charlie and Illa had Carl baptized the day after Ida was married. That made for one busy weekend. They also surprised everyone at the lunch after baptism when Charlie got down on one knee and asked Illa to marry him. I am happy to report she said YES. This wedding is being planned for August 7, 2004 in northern Minnesota. If you get an invitation to this wedding you may be happy to know that jeans or whatever comfy cloths you want to wear are will be great. It is a Country or Western theme wedding.

Arnie and I will be celebrating a couple of great dates this month. We will be celebrating Arnie being cancer free for 2 years. He had his cancer surgery on Oct 26, 2001. We will also be celebrating 30 years of married life. We have traveled many roads. Some were sure full of potholes. But we have made it and I will say I am looking forward to the next 30 or more.

Until my next family update, I wish you all well and will pray that the Lord will be keeping you safe.

Until the family reunion, Love to all. Nancy
